Will Armenia use the right of veto in CSTO?

Talking about the use of the veto in the CSTO is frivolous.

The question of appointing the CSTO Secretary-General will be discussed in December, and until then the Armenian political circles are actively discussing whether Armenia will continue to head the structure until the end of the mandate or will be deprived of this right.

The director of the Caucasus Institute, political analyst Alexander Iskandaryan first notes that there are formally three options for the development of events: Armenia will continue to hold the office, the mandate will be transferred to Belarus, and the third option is that the Russian representative will act as Secretary-General. “The first option is less likely. I appreciate Vagharshak Harutyunyan, he is a professional, and I am convinced that he would be of great benefit in this post, but this option is hardly likely,” the political analyst emphasizes.

Will Armenia use the right of veto in CSTO? Iskandaryan does not consider it serious to talk about the veto, since “in this case, the contradictions will become more serious.” Find the details in the program “Paradigm”.
